EEOC Recovers $56.6
Million in Settlements for Victims of Sexual Harassment in FY
2018
On April 10, 2019, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (EEOC) reported the statistical litigation and enforcement
breakdown for FY 2018.
Sexual harassment charges increased by 13.6% over the
previous year to 7,609. The EEOC recovered $56.6 million in financial

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Pays $395,000 for
Discriminating
During a routine compliance evaluation, OFCCP determined
that Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Inc, discriminated against female, white
and black applicants that applied for their Loader and Uploader positions
while favoring Hispanic male applicants. The discriminatory hiring
practices violated Executive Order (EO 11246) that prohibits federal
contractors and sub-contractors from discriminating based on race, national
origin, or gender.
